Frequently asked questions

Where does this design come from?

A pair of artichokes drawn in the manner of an old botanical plate — stems, ribbed leaves and purple-tipped bracts all rendered in fine line — set against a hand-painted terracotta gingham, with two olive sprigs balancing the composition.

Which pieces come in this design?

Table runner, placemat, cloth napkin, tea towel and apron. Everything currently made in this print is on this page.

Is this a seasonal print?

Not strictly. The terracotta reads warmly enough for autumn and a Thanksgiving table, but artichoke and olive are Mediterranean year-round, so it does not have to come off the table in December.

What does it go with?

The check gives it more structure than a scattered print, so it holds a table on its own. It sits well with plain cream china, terracotta earthenware and the olive and fig prints in the other lines.
