100% cotton twill
A double-layer weave with a vintage hand, hemmed all the way round with a white seam thread. Sturdy enough for every day, presentable enough for a laid table.
Dye-sublimation print
The color is set into the fibers rather than layered on top, so the print stays vivid and does not fade with washing. Printed on one side; the reverse is natural cotton.

What size are these placemats?
One size, 18″ × 14″ (45.7 × 35.6 cm). That is the standard rectangular placemat size in the US, so it sits correctly under a dinner plate with room for cutlery on either side. They are pre-constructed, so allow about half an inch of variance.
Are these placemats washable?
Yes. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, no bleach, and let them line dry rather than tumble dry. The dye-sublimation print sits inside the fibers, so repeated washing does not fade the design.
Can I iron a cotton placemat?
Yes, on low heat, steam or dry. Ironing while the cotton is still slightly damp gives the flattest result. Do not dryclean.
How many placemats do I need for a table?
One per seat, with roughly two inches between mats so they do not overlap. A standard six-foot rectangular table comfortably takes six of these; a round table of 48 inches takes four.
