Is this metallic gold?
No — warm gold and ochre in the print, not metallic foil or thread. Digital printing cannot produce a metallic finish, and an ochre ground under candlelight reads warmer than most metallic runners do anyway.
Which material carries gold better?
Polyester. Dye sublimation on polyester gives the stronger, more saturated colour, which is what you want if the runner has to read as gold from across the room. Cotton twill takes the same design a shade softer.
What does gold go with?
Dark wood, cream crockery and candlelight. In flat daylight on a pale table an ochre runner can look muddy — this is an evening colour.
