What makes a runner read as spring?
A lighter ground and a cooler palette — sage, dove grey, soft violet, pale ochre. It is the ground colour that does the work, not the motif; a dark base will read as winter whatever is printed on it.
Which length?
Add 12 to 24 inches to your table. The 90″ is worth taking if the table gets extended once meals start moving outside.
How long can it stay out?
March through June comfortably. Nothing in the spring palette reads as a specific holiday, which is what gives it the longer run.
